Meet Shakira, a beautiful and gentle female alpaca we’ve raised since 2022 when we bought her in as a young cria at foot. She has a wonderful calm and loving nature.

Shakira had her first cria this year (2025) with no complications and she was a devoted, attentive mother. Her cria is thriving and growing well, a true testament to her maternal instincts. She is hardy, healthy, and low-maintenance— however, she does require slightly more frequent toenail trims than some, but is very cooperative and doesn’t kick.

Shakira handles routine husbandry well, though she enjoys a little vocal protest—it just adds to her personality!

Currently pregnant for the 2026 birthing season, Shakira is mated to our award-winning stud, Latton Nelson, with a due date of 22nd July 2026.

With her excellent temperament and proven maternal ability, Shakira would make a fantastic addition to any herd.
